As Nebula Academy, we strive to provide a fun learning environment for children of all ages. Our students had a fun with an indoor field trip, Clay for Kids on April 10, 2019.
Clay is one of the most effective art mediums for children to discover and develop their creative and learning skills. The children develop both fine and major motor skills as they handle the clay and feel it responding to their manipulation and imagination. The class began with project instruction the regular pottery wheel demonstration and the students from PS to Grade 3 started the curriculum project. Each student temporarily finished their work, clay project on the wheel. The instructors helped the students to center the clay, shaped the piece and then applied a slip glaze to the spinning clay work. After the class, each piece which would be fired in the kilns and returned to the students.
