We are delighted to share the joyous moments from the Quran Contest Award Ceremony that took place on December 14, 2023, for grades 1 to 4, and on December 18, 2023, for grades 5 to 9. The ceremony was held at the conference hall, starting at 2:40 pm, showcasing the remarkable achievements of our students in the art of Qiraat (Quran reading).
Contest Highlights:
The Quran Recitation Contest, held on December 4, 2023, aimed to foster a deeper connection with the beautiful art of Quranic recitation among our students. The participants exhibited exceptional skills, showcasing their dedication and mastery of various aspects of Quranic reading.
Contestants demonstrated their proficiency by reciting specific verses from the Quran, each with its unique set of criteria. The contest calendar and marking criteria were as follows:
Contest Calendar:
- Grades 1 and 2: Baqarah 77 and 78
- Grades 3 and 4: Ali Imran 23, 24, and 25
- Grades 5 and 6: Nisa 92
- Grade 7 and 8/9: Kahf 35, 36, 37, 38, 39, and 40
- All grades: Starting with Basmalah
Criteria for Marking:
- Grades 1 and 2: Makhraj, harakat, stopping signs
- Grades 3 and 4: Makhraj, harakat, major and minor stopping signs, mad asli/tabiy
- Grades 5 and 6: Makhraj, harakat, major and minor stopping signs, mad asli/tabiy, idghaam with and without ghunnah, ikhfa
- Grade 7 and 8/9: Makhraj, harakat, major and minor stopping signs, mad asli/tabiy, idghaam with and without ghunnah, ikhfa, correct madd length
