We are excited to announce our upcoming Quran Recitation Contest, which will commence on December 4, 2023. This event aims to promote the beautiful art of Qiraat (reading) from the Quran among our students. Please note that this contest will focus solely on recitation and will not include memorization.
Contest Details:
- Contestants Preparation Deadline: All contestants should be ready for marking by December 4, 2023.
Awards:
- Grade 1:
- 1st Place: $50
- 2nd Place: $30
- 3rd Place: $20
- Grades 2-9:
- 1st Place: $50
- 2nd Place: $30
- 3rd Place: $20
Contest Calendar:
- November 14: Announcement of verses (ayat) for each grade
- November 15: Registration for the contest opens (open until December 3)
- December 4: Teachers start listening to contestants and marking
- December 14: Award Ceremony for Grades 1 to 4 (Conference Room)
- December 18: Award Ceremony for Grades 5 to 9 (Conference Room)
Verses (Ayat) to be Read and Marked:
- Grades 1 and 2: Baqarah 77 and 78
- Grades 3 and 4: Ali Imran 23, 24, and 25
- Grades 5 and 6: Nisa 92
- Grade 7 and 8/9: Kahf 35, 36, 37, 38, 39, and 40
Criteria for Marking:
- Grades 1 and 2: Makhraj, harakat, stopping signs
- Grades 3 and 4: Makhraj, harakat, major and minor stopping signs, mad asli/tabiy
- Grades 5 and 6: Makhraj, harakat, major and minor stopping signs, mad asli/tabiy, idghaam with and without ghunnah, ikhfa
- Grade 7 and 8/9: Makhraj, harakat, major and minor stopping signs, mad asli/tabiy, idghaam with and without ghunnah, ikhfa, correct madd length
- All grades: Starting with Basmalah
We encourage all students to participate in this enriching contest. It is important to note that the contest will exclusively focus on the specified verses. We recommend practicing at home before December 4, 2023.
